Dear Coach:
I would like to take a moment of
your time to introduce myself. My name is Rory Smith and I have just completed my
junior year at
I have spent time with my athletic
director, who is also my assistant coach, doing research on which colleges
would be a good match for me both academically and athletically. I am very
interested in your college and would appreciate receiving information about
your school, as well as about the softball program.
Our high school team just completed
a season where we finished 17-10 overall, placed second in our conference,
earned the number one seed in our nine team sectional, and won the sectional
championship. Personally, I earned 1st
Team Eastern District honors and also was selected all-league in both of the
conferences that we participate in. I
will be playing in the
All-Ohio Underclassman Tournament in
Pickerington on June 25th and 26th for the second year in
a row. I also will be playing summer
travel ball with the Ohio Valley Hurricanes.
I have enclosed a copy of our schedule in hopes that you will be able to
see me play this summer. You may also contact
my high school coach if you are interested in seeing a video of me in one of
our games.
Academically, I have participated in
a college preparatory program here at
In addition to my summer tournament
schedule, I have enclosed a copy of my athletic resume. If you have any questions, please feel free
to call me at home or email me. I look
forward to hearing from you in the near future.
Sincerely yours,
Rory Smith
